PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an anti-fogging agent capable of being used safely, easily and at a low cost in ordinary homes and having durability in effect enough to be used in ordinary homes by including an organopolysiloxane-based surfactant. SOLUTION: This anti-fogging agent includes an organopolysiloxane-based surfactant having 100-10,000 dynamic viscosity (preferably 500-3,000 dynamic viscosity). The anti-fogging agent is produced by dissolving the organopolysiloxane-based surfactant into a solvent preferably such as water, methanol or ethanol. The anti-fogging agent is applied by being held in a spray for uniformly spraying the agent over the surface of a mirror or the like, or by being uniformly applied to the surface of a mirror or the like in a soaked state in cloth, sponge or the like.
