PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing an olefin polymer which can efficiently produce an olefin polymer having target properties by measuring the properties of a polymer in parallel with the polymerization of an olefin and feed backing the obtained measurement results into the polymerization conditions. SOLUTION: A process for producing an olefin polymer comprise (a) feeding an olefin, hydrogen, a transition metal catalyst component, a cocatalyst, and, if necessary, an electron donor compound to a polymerization vessel to continuously effect polymerization, (b) taking the polymer obtained in the step (a) out of the polymerization vessel, (c) drying and/or granulating the olefin polymer obtained in the step (b), (d) continuously or intermittently sampling the olefin polymer obtained in the step (c), (e) measuring the sample obtained in the step (d) by pulse nuclear magnetic resonance to obtain the measured value of the property to be controlled, and (f) comparing the measured value of the property obtained in the step (e) with the target value of the property to judge, based on the resulting comparative results, to judge whether or not the polymerization conditions capable of controlling the property should be changed.
