摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain freshness for a long time, to lower speed in the change of xanthophyll degree, to prevent moisture content from lowering, to improve freshness retaining characteristics and to reduce energy for keeping cool by applying single pulse magnetic field, whose lines of magnetic force leave for a specific direction, to harvested agricultural food products. SOLUTION: The state of agricultural food product immediately after harvest can be retained by applying a nearly monopolar, single pulse magnetic field to harvested agricultural food product such as vegetables. The lines of magnetic force in the magnetic field leave for the direction of the growing axis of the produce or nearly parallel to the same axis and the magnetic field strength is set so as to become preferably 0.03-0.3 teslas, more preferably 0.07-0.15 teslas concerning the peak value on the center axis of the magnetic field.</p>
