PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture high quality electric seam pipes by preventing cooling irregularity of a pipe to be heated along with elimination of a welding bead, and also preventing the bead chips from following the pipe even at a high line speed. SOLUTION: This electric seam pipe comprises a projection/indentation processing means for forming a large number of projections/indentations on a single face of a metallic bar 10 which is continuously fed, a molding means for molding the metallic bar 10 into a tubular shape with the projection/ indentation face inside, a welding means 4 for welding a butt part of the metallic bar 10 to manufacture a pipe, a spray nozzle 7 for supplying a lubrication liquid to a welding bead 11 portion on an outer periphery of a pipe 1, and a bead cutter 5 for removing the welding bead 11. Then, directivity is provided to the removed bead chips 12 by a fluid in a manner that the chips flow to the side from a running portion of the pipe 1, and the bead chips 12 are introduced to a given position so as to be cut.
