PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the function by using, as the material of a building material, a timber hardly dispersing toxic chemical materials and having tick preventing effect, and mixing a tick preventing material to a coating material. SOLUTION: A surface layer material 3 is adhered to a base material 1 through an adhesive 2, and a pigment 4 and a coating material 5 are applied to the surface layer material 3 to constitute a floor material or the like. The base material 1 and the surface layer material 3 are formed of a timber, particle board or fiber board of hinoki or cedar which repels tick and other harmful insects to suppress the inhabitance thereof. As the adhesive 2, a melamine or epoxy adhesive conformable to non-formaldehyde or low TVOC dispersion is used. Further, a chemical agent hardly having an influence on human body and repelling tick and other harmful insects to suppress the inhabitation such as fentropos, hinokitiol or the like is mixed to the pigment 4, the coating material 5 and the adhesive 2 directly or in the microcapsuled state. According to this, dispersion of toxic chemical materials can be minimized, and infestation of tick and other harmful insects can be suppressed.
