PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment device having a remarkably enhanced productivity. SOLUTION: A work 2 to be powder-coated such as step of moving staircases is subjected to anodizing by an anodizing unit 7. A conveyor means 4 for advancing a carrier 3 is lowered above a tank 14 and the work 2 is immersed in a bath 16 and is lifted and conveyed away from the bath 16 at an end of the tank 14 after an elapse of a retention time as shown in a traveling direction 15. A current supply means 17, e.g. bus bar extending in parallel with a rail of a conveyor means 4 is installed in a tank zone. Each carrier 3 is provided with a slide-contact or roller-contact current takeout device electrically connected to the current supply means 17. A contact is made by lowering the carrier 3 and is broken by lifting the carrier 3.
