PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating type bed conditioning material being so excellent in productivity as to produce no unevenness when filling the jointed parts of a dry wall bed and a construction method which can achieve a very beautiful wall face finish by inhibiting cracking of the wall bed over a long period. SOLUTION: This bed conditioning material for a dry wall contains a synthetic resin emulsion as a binder and an inorganic filler with grain diameters of 0.5 mm or less and carbon fibers with fiber diameters of 5 to 50μm and lengths of 0.3 to 30 mm as main components; 100 pts.wt. of the inorganic filler are blended with 0.05 to 5 pts.wt. of the carbon fibers.
