A method (700) and apparatus for controlling the transmit power allocated to an information signal transmitted from a mobile station is disclosed. A received power control signal value is determined (720) from a power control information signal received at the mobile station. The transmit power of signals sent from the mobile station to a base station on the reverse link is increased if the received power control signal value is greater than the first threshold (740), or decreased if the received power control signal value is less than the second threshold (760). |
