PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a throughput in an ink-jet recording apparatus which prints recording papers of a relatively large size. SOLUTION: In this control apparatus, a flushing-determining means 55 judges from a paper size obtained by a paper breadth-recognizing means 48 and a move direction obtained by a carriage move direction-detecting means 54 whether or not flushing is to be carried out. In this case, a threshold value obtained from a threshold value-setting means 53 is set different in accordance with the move direction of a carriage. A probability of carrying. out flushing is made high at the side of a home position while a necessary flushing interval is maintained. A move range of the carriage is accordingly reduced, so that a throughput is improved. |
