PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely rewrite data such as an amount of remaining ink or the like even when an inexpensive one is used as a memory element to be loaded to an ink-storing body. SOLUTION: In an ink-jet printer, an inexpensive EEPROM allowing only a sequential access is used as a memory element 80 to be loaded to ink cartridges 107K and 107F to reduce costs. Data of an amount of remaining ink of each color are placed together at a second memory area accessed earlier than a first memory area where read only data are stored in a memory cell 81 of the memory element 80 loaded to the color ink cartridge 107F. |
