PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cracking of a long nozzle and to perfectly seal an engaged portion of the nozzle. SOLUTION: This equipment seals an engaged portion 4 of a long nozzle 1 whose upper end is engaged with a fire-resistant member 2. It is equipped with an iron shell 6 to cover the upper outer periphery of the nozzle 1 and the surrounding of the engaged portion 4 via a prescribed clearance 5 and means 7, 8, and 9 to supply inert gas between the shell 6 and the upper outer periphery of the nozzle 1. An annular groove 3 is provided at the inert gas supply position by the supply means 7, 8, and 9 of the upper outer periphery of the nozzle 1, and the inert gas supplied into the annular groove 3 is sprayed to the engaged portion 4 via the clearance 5.
