PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate positional shift of image by shifting the timing for applying a flight bias to each flight control electrode individually from a regular timing based on the theoretical value and actually measured value of a timing for detecting a reference image formed at a specified timing on a counter electrode or a recording member. SOLUTION: A control section 12 forms a single line image 16 of a reference image, at a specified timing, in the vicinity of the end part of a sheet carrying belt 2 and begins to count the elapsed time upon starting sormation of the image 16. When the image 16 formed on the belt 2 passes directly under an image sensor 15 through surface movement of the belt 2, the sensor 15 delivers a detection signal to the control section 12. Subsequently, count operation is ended and the time elapsed after starting formation of the image 16 before receiving the detection signal is determined. Based on the comparison results of the theoretical value and measured value of detection timing, on/off timing of an image signal voltage to each ring electrode of an FPC 102 is corrected and an image signal is transmitted to a high voltage driver IC 10 based on the correction results. |
