PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb fluctuation in the ink supply pressure incident to operation of a head by providing a plurality of dampers having a movable wall for absorbing pressure fluctuation in series in an ink supply path. SOLUTION: A damper unit has side wall made of a rigid member. One side wall is provided with a flexible film fused to the rigid member thus forming a movable face being deformed by pressure fluctuation in a damper chamber. A resilient material, i.e., a leaf spring, is applied tightly to the inside of the flexible film in order to bring about damper effect. When two dampers 201, 202 are connected in series, even a micro pressure fluctuation can be removed entirely without enlarging the damper. In this regard, ink is supplied from an ink tank 8 to a head 1 through the dampers 201, 202. These dampers 201, 202 must be disposed closely to the head and they are mounted preferably on a carriage. |
