PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accumulatorless hydraulic pressure brake device consuming no wasteful energy. SOLUTION: Solenoid-operated control valves 76-90 for boosting and decompression are installed between a power liquid pressure source 32 including a low pressure 66, a high pressure pump 66, etc., and wheel cylinders(W/C) 10-16. In normal braking, the W/C's 10-16 are shut off from a master cylinder 38, and the pumps 64 and 66 are operated so that a target W/C liquid pressure is generated, and all boosting control valves are opened to increase the W/C liquid pressure, or the pumps 64 and 66 are put in full working condition and the pressure is boosted through operation of the boosting control valves. The holding and decompression are made by closing the boosting control valves and through operation of the decompressing control valves. In the anti-lock control, the pumps 64 and 66 are operated so as to generate the W/C liquid pressure of the wheel having maximum boosting request while the W/C liquid pressures of the other wheels are controlled by the boosting and decompressing control valves.
