PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate material holder for a press brake, a holder that is adaptable to various working shapes as well as to a small working quantity and that is also highly safe. SOLUTION: The device is a plate material holder 10a, 10b for holding a plate material 30 such as a steel plate when it is bent by a press brake 20; the device is equipped with a plate material holding part for holding the plate material 30 freely detachably/attachably and with two gripping parts enclosed with a protective cover; and, the two gripping parts are independently provided with a safety switch, allowing the operating switch 23 of the press brake 20 to be actuated only when both safety switches are pressed simultaneously.
