PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner is which running wheels can be installed to and removed from the vacuum cleaner body easily. SOLUTION: A running wheel is installed to a vacuum cleaner body in which a reel chamber is provided by combining a pair of cases (a lower case, an upper case) divided in vertical direction and housing a dust chamber, a fan chamber and a code reel device 60 therein. Then, a circular engaging groove 74 is formed at the tip of a shaft 73 of a running wheel 70, a bearing 27 which bears the shaft 73 of the running wheel 70 by penetrating a part where the circular engaging groove 74 is formed is provided at one side of the divided cases (the lower case 20) and a control body (an engaging convex part 63) is formed at a shaft body 62 of the code reel device 60. The installation and removal of the running wheel 70 can be simplified by engaging the control with the engaging groove 74 or removing it from the groove 74 to attach or remove the running wheel.
