PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a pigment-containing foaming gel, which is a treating agent, having a weak foaming activity and a coloring property, and at the same time having a hair dresing property, capable of imparting high color brightness and luster to hair by treating hair with the gel, further arbitrarily removable by washing, and having high abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: A foaming coloring gel; combination of an appropriate aerosol container and a gel forming device; containing (A) 35-98 wt.% of water, (B) one or more of gel-forming thickeners selected from thickeners which can limit fluidity of the constituting elements, (C) one or more pigments, (D) one or more film forming and hair-setting polymers, (E) one or more foaming surfactants and (F) one or more propellants; the concentration of the thickener is set so that on the one hand the viscosity of the gel is sufficiently low to enable the foaming of the gel, and on the other hand the fluidity is limited to avoid the precipitation of the pigment.
