摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer compound having the capability of absorbing a long-wavelength light and improved durability at an improved reaction rate and used as a light/energy storage/transformation material by reacting a norbornadiene compound with a diepoxy compound. SOLUTION: A norbornadiene compound (1 mol) of formula I is reacted with 1-1.1 mol of a diepoxide compound of formula II in the presence of a catalyst for 1-24 h at room temperature to a temperature near the boiling point of the solvent to obtain a polymer compound having a number-average molecular weight of 1,000-50,000, desirably, 15,000-30,000 and a molecular weight distribution of 1-10, desirably, 1-3. In the formulae, R3 and R4 are each an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl, or an aralkyl; R5 to R8 are each H, an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl, or an aralkyl; and R2 is an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl, or an alkylene glycol group. The solvent used is desirably N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone, DMF, DMSO, chloroform, or the like, and the catalyst used is desirably a quaternary salt such as tetrabutylammonium bromide or tetraphenylphosphonium bromide.
