PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Tatami mat without hem which is manufactured at low cost without requiring skilled labor. SOLUTION: A Tatami mat 1 without hem has a Tatami facing 2 and a Tatami bed 3 mainly composed of a foamed body, and the Tatami facing 2 and the Tatami bed 3 are united together with adhesive 4 applied entirely over the Tatami bed 3. For the Tatami mat 1 without hem, chamfering is applied all round the hem of the Tatami facing 2, and the circumferential face of the framework and breadth of the Tatami mat 1 including the chamfered part 5 is covered with a protective film 6 which is applied to the Tatami mat including the chamfered part 5 of the Tatami facing 2.
