PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the vibration of a tool in machining by surely suppressing the vibration of a main spindle head. SOLUTION: A compressive stress of a root part of a main spindle head 5 generated by the vibration of the main spindle head 5 by the external force such as a machining reaction force is detected by an acceleration sensor 14, the amplitude is found by a controller 15 based on the detection information of the acceleration sensor 14, an operation command is outputted to a piezoelectric element 16 with the vibration position reversed according to the amplitude, the piezoelectric element 16 is operated in a state as cancelling the vibration amplitude applied to the main spindle head 5 so that the stress is generated on the main spindle head 5 to suppress the vibration, the vibration of the main spindle head 5 is surely suppressed, the vibration of the tool in the machining is suppressed, the machining accuracy is improved, and the service life of the tool is prolonged.
