PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complete balance adjustment, by moving speedily an eccentric load due to the eccentric position of thins being washed to a position opposite to a balancer and by pouring water into the balancer. SOLUTION: When things being washed are rotated under sticking to the internal circular wall of a drum 5 by centrifugal force, the rotating speed is rapidly decreased during the time when an eccentric load passes the sides of the drum 5 and reaches a highest point, and the eccentric load is moved by being slid or rolled down rearward in the direction of the rotation. The lowest rotating speed during the deceleration is altered according to the amount of load. In the case of a small amount of load (a), large deceleration is carried out, thereby moving the things being washed which are stuck to the internal circular wall face of the drum 5. In the case of a large amount of load (b), small deceleration is carried out, and the things being washed which are situated on the internal circular wall of the drum 5 are not moved but only a mass of things being washed which are situated inside them are moved. Thus, irrespective of the amount of load, the eccentric load can speedily be moved to a position opposite to a balancer 10.
