PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a sewing work efficiency by providing a fabric folding section to guide a fabric in the width direction, on a folding guide which fold-guides the band-shape fabric into a state wherein the edge sections of the fabric body are covered, and providing a preventing means which prevents the side edge sections of the fabric from being folded in the width direction, on the fabric folding section. SOLUTION: When a band-shape fabric B is cover-sewn along the edge section of the fabric body while folding the fabric B by a fabric folding guide 1, first, the folding guide 1 is variably adjusted in a manner to become approx. rectangular to the edge section of the fabric body which is fed to a sewing location D. Also, a fixing screw 25 is loosened, a protuberance 24b of a width contracting member 24 is removed from a guide hole 23a of a cylindrical flat path which is formed on a fabric developing section 19. In addition, a protuberance 35b of a regulating member 35 is removed from a guide hole 31c of a side passage which is formed on a fabric folding section 20. Then, the fabric B is developed in the width direction, and stretched on a stretching section 37b of a fabric guide, and the edge section is folded inward by inserting the edge section in the cylindrical flat path of the fabric developing section 19, and the edge section is sewn by a sewing machine C.
