PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a stroke length suitable for a die in a manner that manufacturing velocity becomes high by eliminating waste strokes except for in a molding range, and also control start and stop of a slide and a peripheral device. SOLUTION: Against each of plural dies, a lower limit position A of a slide 3 at the molding time is measured by trial punching in advance. For each die, the stroke length required for transferring a work 43 without interference of an upper die 7a and a guide pin 41 after molding, is computed based on a molding depth h, a plate thickness T of a work 43, a maximum valueαof swelling, and a guide pin length L showing the length of the upper/lower directions from the tip part of the guide pin 41 which is mounted to the upper die 7a and positions the work 43 to the lowest bottom face of the upper die 7a. Then, an upper limit position is set from the lower limit position A and the stroke length. In molding, when the slide 3 reaches the upper limit position, the slide 3 is made to stop so as to start up the peripheral device. When the peripheral device completes transferring, the slide 3 is started up.
