PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a twisted union yarn having good hand feeling without spoiling bulkiness inherent to open end spun yarns. SOLUTION: In a spinning frame having a twisting mechanism installed with a turbine 14 and a separator 15, a twisted union yarn is formed by feeding a sliver 11 to a twisting unit of a turbine 20 of the twisting mechanism, feeding a spun yarn or a filament yarn 28 from an opening 22a installed on a surrounding wall 21 of the turbine 20 into the inside of the turbine 20 and twisting an open end spun yarn 17 formed in a twisting part with a spun yarn or a filament yarn 28 fed inside of the turbine.
