PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for oxidizing especially a double bond part of an organic compound having the double bond by utilizing inexpensive readily available molecular oxygen and hydrogen peroxide in combination. SOLUTION: An organic compound having a double bond is oxidized by feeding both molecular oxygen and hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizing agent in the presence of one or more metal compounds selected from tungsten compounds and molybdenum compounds thereto. In the method for oxidizing the organic compound having the double bond, the inexpensive molecular oxygen can be utilized together with the hydrogen peroxide as the oxidizing agent. |
