摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new physiologically active peptide composed of a physiologically active peptide having an ability of binding to a receptor protein containing a specified amino acid sequence, and useful for development of a receptor-binding assay system, a medicine or the like for an improver of a memorizing function, or the like. SOLUTION: This new physiologically active peptide is the one (a precursor, an amide, an ester or a salt) having an ability capable of binding to a receptor protein containing an amino acid sequence the same as or substantially the same as the amino acid sequence of formula I and an amino acid sequence the same as or substantially the same as the amino acid sequence of formulas II to IV. The physiologically active peptide is useful for the development of a receptor-binding assay system by using an expression system of a recombinant type receptor protein, the screening of candidate compounds for medicines, the development of a medicine such as an improver of a memorizing function, an improver of appetite, a function regulator in uterus, kidney, prostate, testis and skeletal muscle, and the like. The peptide is obtained by purifying and isolating an extract of swine hypothalamus by using galanin receptor-activating action as an index.</p>
