PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a termite-repelling composition having an excellent termite- repelling efficiency by adding the microcapsules of a specific cyclopropane carboxylate compound. SOLUTION: This termite repellent composition contains the microcapsules ofα-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2-methylprop-1-enyl)cyclopropane carboxylate. The compound is contained in the composition in an amount of usually 0.001-50 wt.%, preferably 0.1-20 wt.%. The microcapsules are obtained by forming coating films comprising a polyurethane, etc., by a conventional microcapsule-forming method such as an interfacial polymerization method. The composition is useful for controlling termites such as Coptotermes formosanus, and preferably applied in an amount of 1-10 g/m2 as the above compound.
