PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding window set to make the own weight of a sash to act on a window opening or closing direction, making effective use of the own weight of the sash without factors causing an increase in the number of parts such as the addition of a weight and cost increase for making the sash asymmetric or the like. SOLUTION: This sliding window is provided with a sash 2 swinging with both sides of an upper end 2A vetically moving along lateral vertical frame members 11 of a window frame 1 and with an intermediate part rotatably supported by link mechanism 3 and connected to the window frame 1. The link mechanism 3 is provided with a lateral pair of main arms 31, 31 with one ends 33 connected to the sash 2 on a rotation axis A and with the other ends 34 vertically moving along the vertical frame members 11, and a lateral pair of auxiliary arms 32, 32 with one ends rotatably connected to the intermediate positions of the main arms 31 and with the other ends rotatably connected to the intermediate positions of the vertical frame members 11. The rotation axis A is set away from the center of gravity G of the sash 2 by the specified distance L.
