PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building unit and a unit type building of which the partition wall provided at the boundary of a pair of building units adjacently arranged can be made to be thin. SOLUTION: A first column 32 having a small section and a second column 39 having a small section are formed at one side face of a skeleton provided in a building unit 5. In this time, the first and second columns 32, 39 are set to have a smaller section than ordinary columns. In this way, the thickness of the partition wall 20 provided along the boundary of the building unit 5 can be lessened and hence, the indoor floor area can be sufficiently secured.
