PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butt sash preventing ventilation at a butt part when the sash is closed. SOLUTION: This butt sash 1 is provided with one butt stile 7 with a recessed part 11; the other butt stile 9 with a protruding part 19 fitted into the recessed part 11; and first airtight members 25, 26. One butt stile 7 is provided with abutting faces 38, 41 on the indoor side and outdoor side. The first airtight members 25, 26 are provided on at least one side of the indoor side and outdoor side with the protruding part 19 held in between, and provided with first abutting parts 31 abutting on the abutting faces 39, 41, and second abutting parts 33 abutting on the recessed part 11.
