PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent early lowering of strength due to falling of a binder even in a corrosive environment by making a Ti-Mo based eutectic alloy as a base and using a material uniformly dispersed with Tic particles. SOLUTION: This bearing is constituted of a sleeve 12 mounted around a stainless steel shaft 10, a fixing sleeve 16 for fixing this sleeve 12 with a screw 14 and a bearing member supporting these sleeves 12, 16. A bearing material has SiC as a main component and is a sintered material of porosity 10%. The sleeve 12 is a sintered alloy in which TiC particles with an average size of 2μm are dispersed by 40 wt.% in Ti-Mo (80/20) alloy. Since conductivity of a protective film formed on a Ti-Mo based eutectic alloy in corrosive atmosphere is low and passive state maintaining current is low, even if the bearing is used in a corrosive environment, early lowering of strength due to falling of a binder is prevented and the bearing displays excellent performance when used for a pump for pumping sea water.
