PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holding device superiorly chamfering works even having deviation in the dimension and surface roughness. SOLUTION: A machine tool which is so formed that a tool having a blade formed thereon is connected to a chuck unit rotatable by receiving the drive of a motor and moved while rotated so as to cut a work, is provided with a body 101 which is a tool holder for holding the tool and rotates by receiving the drive of a motor, a slide shaft 104 arranged integrally, rotatably, and slidably with the body 101 and integrally connects and holds the tool, and a spring 105 energizing the slide shaft 104 in the tool edge direction.
