PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an epoxy-based resin composition excellent in mechanical characteristics, heat resistance, adhesive properties, moisture resistance without spoiling surface properties. SOLUTION: This epoxy-based resin composition contains an epoxy-based resin and an intercalation compound. The intercalation compound is prepared by mixing a swelling silicate and an amino compound in a dispersion medium. The amino compound has at least one amino group selected from a group comprising primary, secondary and tertiary amino groups and is a 1-25C hydrocarbon compound which may have one or more of substituents selected from a group comprising hydroxy group, mercapto group, ether group, carboxyl group, nitro group and chlorine atom.
