PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new amino acid transport protein which consists of a cell surface protein capable of Na+ independently mediating the transport of amino acids into cells, exerts the usability in the identification or the like of medicines inhibiting the bioactivity and molecular expression of this molecule and is used for the development or the like of therapeutic drugs for cancer. SOLUTION: This protein is a new protein, which consists of a cell surface protein capable of mediating the transport of amino acids into cells and is capable of Na+-nondependently mediating the incorporation of at least one kind of amino acids selected from the group consisting of leucine(Leu), isoleucine(Ile), phenylalanine(Phe), methionine(Met), tyrosine(Tyr), triptophan(Trp), valine(Val) and histidine(His) into cells, and can develop treating agents for tumor (cancer) or the like by identifying medicines inhibiting the bioactivity and/or expression of this molecule. This protein is obtained by expressing the gene, obtained by screening out a cDNA library arising from human placenta, in the host cell. |
