PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form bores having different dimensions and shapes with the use of one kind of a tool and to obtain a desired finishing dimensions even though a cutting edge is worn. SOLUTION: An X-axial table 15 supported on a column 12 standing upright from a bed 11, is moved in the X-axial direction while a Y-axial table 20 carried on the X-axial table 15 is moved in the Y-axial direction so as to displace a workpiece W carried on the Y-axial table 20 in the X-Y plane while the workpiece W is fabricated by a tool T which is rotated by a spindle 30 provided on a Z-axial table 26 supported by the column 12 so as to be moved in the Z-axial direction. The movements of the X-axial table 15 and the Y-axial table 20 are subjected contering control so as to displace the workpiece W along an optional path in order to form bores having different dimensions and shapes with the use of one kind of a tool T, and further, a cutting edge of the tool T can be compensated for its abrasion by correcting the path along which the workpiece W is displaced.
