PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a crop harvest-increasing agent having excellent safety, capable of being produced in a large amount and useful for promoting the increase in the flowers and ears of various crops such as cotton and Pisum sativum to increase their harvests by adding a specific indole skeleton-containing compound. SOLUTION: This crop harvest-increasing agent contains an indole skeleton- containing compound of the formula (X is H, chlorine or methoxy; R1 is CHO, CH2CHO, CH2CN or the like), preferably its natural compound, (preferably indole-3-acetic acid, 4-chloroindole-3-acetic acid). The agent preferably further contains a reducing agent such as sodium bisulfite. The compound of the formula as the active compound is preferably used in an amount of 10-7 to 5 g per are. When the agent is used for treating the stems and leaves of the crops as an aqueous solution, the aqueous solution of the compound of the formula diluted in a concentration of about 0.001-500 ppm is preferably sprayed at a rate of 0.1-100 L/are.
