PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hat frame driving apparatus capable of ensuring vibration- proof property of a unit and having good workability by constituting the apparatus so as to make a unit rotatably supporting a hat frame reciprocatable on a horizontal rail and guiding the unit along the shaft protruded from a bed. SOLUTION: A hat frame 30 fitted into a cyclic body 22 rotatably laid in front side of a unit 20 by a slider 52 which is made reciprocatable by a driving source on a horizontal rail 50 fixed on the upper side of a support 40 so as to extend in horizontal direction on a bed 12 of an embroidery sewing machine 10 is constituted to be reciprocatable over a prescribed range and the unit 20 is constituted so as to be guided by a pair of shafts 58 in vertical direction simultaneously protruded from the bed 12 and enable integral movement with the slider 52 to constitute the objective driving apparatus of the hat frame 30.
