PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve color purity and durability of a colorant by comprising a phthalocyanine compound compatible with a resin, and the resin, wherein both the colorant and the resin are each specific in view of a maximum adsorption wavelength and a heat decomposition starting temperature. SOLUTION: This colorant comprises a phthalocyanine compound compatible with a resin, desirably dissolving at least 1 wt.% in the resin or dissolving at least 1 wt.% in a solvent, having a maximum adsorption wavelength of 600-700 nm and a heat decomposition starting temperature of at least 300 deg.C, desirably 350-600 deg.C, and the resin (e.g. a styrene-acrylate copolymer). The colorant is further produced in a benzonitrile solvent, and particularly preferably comprises a phthalocyanine compound obtained by a phthalonitrile method. Furthermore, the colorant comprises a phthalocyanine compound represented by the formula, wherein R1-R16 are: at least two are each a 1-20C straight alkyl, branched alkyl or cyclic alkyl and the others are H; M is a divalent metal (e.g. Zn). |
