PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a clearance between the expanded part of a seat part provided for mounting a hand and the raised part of a backrest part as much as possible and to reinforce the expanded and raised parts in a chair type massage device composed of a foot mounting part, the seat part and the backrest part. SOLUTION: To the seat part 3 fixed to a leg frame 2, a side cover 54 is interposed between the expanded part 45 of the seat part 3 and the raised part 46 of the backrest part 6 and fixed. On both front and back sides of the side cover 54, receiving parts 60 and 61 positioned on the lower side of the expanded part 45 of the seat part 3 and the raised part 46 of the backrest part 6 are integrally provided. Loads added to the expanded and raised parts 45 and 46 are received by the receiving parts 60 and 61.
