In a method for analysing substances by atomic absorption spectroscopy, a sample is atomized to produce free atoms of the substance to be analysed and the absorption of light by the free atoms at a certain wavelength is measured. In the atomization of the sample, the sample brought along a sample line (3) is heated to the temperature required by the atomization by mixing it into a hot auxiliary gas. In the measurement, a magnet (6) is used to produce Zeeman background correction. |
