A cell having a negative electrode of lithium or lithium alloy comprises an electrolyte dissolved in a saturated aliphatic amine and which also contains sulphur selinium, tellurium or a mixture or compound thereof. The electrolyte is a perchlorate rhodanide, iodide, bromide or chloride of sodium or lithium or an alkalineearth metal, or it can be a compound of sulphur, selenium or tellurium with the amine used or with an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal. The positive may be of carbon or metals or compounds thereof. |
