The invention concerns chiral esters of polysaccharides, preferably of cellulose, amylose, beta -cyclodextrin or amylopectin, obtained by reacting, in a basic medium, polysaccharides (polyhydroxy compounds) with racemic or enriched acid chlorides bearing a hydrogen and an aromatic group on their carbon in alpha . Said precursor-acid (I) can be propionic alpha -phenyl acid, ibuprofen, ketoprofen or naxopren, and more generally, any acid derivative leading to a cetene-type reactive form. Said novel asymmetric esters of polyhydroxy compounds can be used for chiral enrichment, as medicinal systems with prolonged and controlled release of chiral enriched active principles, the latter formed by the acyl-parts of the esters grafted on the hydroxyls (even the amines) of polyhydroxy compounds, or still as chiral stationary phases (CSP). The invention also concerns a method for preparing said esters, and method for chiral enrichment, and the enriching means, the medicinal systems and said CSP.
