In the procedure the tension in the compensating spring (25) is increased in such a way that the articulated platform (11) tends to lift itself. Normally any upward movements of the platform are prevented, and downward movements are permitted. Upward movement of the platform is possible when the restraint is removed just until the required level is reached. The restraint is applied again when the lip of the platform reaches the correct height.
