The apparatus has V-shaped tool parts (4,5,6,7) which compress tube material into a string (3) arranged on each side of the tube passage path. The tool parts can displace in pairs in the transverse direction w.r.t. each other. Two supporting surfaces are formed between the pairs of tool parts for the opposing sides of the string. Two moveable jaws (10,11) are used for ultrasound sealing of the string, using pressure pulsations. The jaws have ridges and a cutting edge. The jaws are controlled by a compressor. The tube is continuously filled, is constricted and cut at regular intervals. The tube at the constricted point is subjected to a high and preferably pulsating pressure so that the meltable layers of the tube material adhere. |
