The invention relates to a tablet press which permits higher pressure holding times without entailing disadvantages and without requiring unsymmetrical die heads. Said table press further permits the tablet-compression dies to be turned even when they are in the compression position. To this end, said tablet press is provided with a rotatably mounted die plate in which the upper die (1) and the lower die (2) are guided. The position of said dies in pressure stages is controlled by upper pressure rollers (3) and lower pressure rollers (4) which are mounted so as to be adjustable in height and which are provided with a drive for their height adjustment. A further upper and lower main pressure roller (3, 4) is mounted behind the upper main pressure roller(s) (3) and behind the lower main pressure roller(s) (4). Upper rails (9) and lower rails (10) are arranged between the two upper pressure rollers (3) and between the two lower pressure rollers (4) and keep the respective pressure die in the compression position.
