Cut strip (6) of an auxiliary lining material is placed around the liner surface (5) so that the two free ends (6') are adjacent to, but at a distance from each other. The ends are then held together with clamps (8) to tension the strip around the liner (3) and connectors (13) are then placed between free ends and hold the latter while the clamps are removed. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a liner for concrete shuttering with a strip of auxiliary lining material (6) tensioned around the surface with eyes (7) for attaching clamps (8) and connectors (13) between the free ends (6'); and (b) the auxiliary liner material.
