The invention relates to a method for processing a thermoplastic condensation polymer which comprises the following process steps: introduction of the condensation polymer into an extruder (1) in the solid state; heating of the condensation polymer to a temperature below the melting point; degassing and/or drying of the condensation polymer and subsequent melting thereof. According to the invention the condensation polymer is degassed and/or dried in the solid state at a pressure below atmospheric pressure and/or an inert gas is added.
