The invention concerns containers characterised in that they are formed by modules A, B, C, D, and so on, forming elementary receptacles, linked by pairs along one of their edges a, b, c, d and so on, forming hinges with the corresponding edge of the adjacent module, in the longitudinal direction of said modules, the modules having an adapted shape such that, by folding back the modules one on top of the other, by a rotational movement at said hinge-forming edges, the folded modules form a container having no opening. Preferably, the edges have bellows-type folding means. Said containers can be used for storage and/or carriage and/or waste such as: carrying, installing and eliminating after use a litter for animals, or for sand, soil, soil mixture, fertiliser granules, food in the form of powder or granules for animals and so on; or they can be used as receptacle for collecting liquid, pasty or solid waste in the form of powder or granules, such as crankcase oil; or as a package in particular to be sent by post; or as a box for storing in particular implements, tools or educational games for children.
