The chain adjuster has a basic body (1) on which is a slide rail (3) radially placed on a bearing arm (2). The slide rail is detachably joined by a fastening element (4)to a form element (5) joined to the basic body. The form element fits into a recess (6) in the slide rail or rests against a side flank (7) of the slide rail.
