The invention relates to an ISDN-network comprising switching centres (VST1, VST2). Data-carrying terminals (EG1, EG2) are linked to said switching centres, e.g. in form of computers having ISDN-cards, whereby said switching centres comprise a switching network (KNE) and a coordination processor (COP) with user programmes (UPR) and whereby the network is configured in such a way that data exchange between the data-carrying terminals and the coordination processor in the user programmes is possible. According to the invention, a hardware-platform (HWP) is allocated to at least one switching centre (VST2). A definite telephone number is assigned to said hardware-platform anywhere in the network and a direct bus link is located between said hardware-platform and said coordination processor (COP), whereby data exchange between the terminals (EG1, EG2) is carried out by the platform via B-channels.
